There are only a handful of blockmakers
left in Malaysia. Two of them are in Terengganu.
The first step is drawing the design.
Blocks are made from discarded tin cans and once the design compon-ents are assembled from strips of tin (actually zinc), it is soldered together. Blocks made from copper are more expensive but hold the wax better and last longer.
