Another well-known establishment, this factory and shop is located in a neighborhood at the southeast end of town. The tourist office next to the Post Office is very helpful and can explain how to get there by bus (if the busses are running) as it is a bit of a hike.
The place has gone into silk-screen production in Marang in a big way and the print quality has improved tremendously. Economically it makes sense for the owners to switch to silk-screen printing but artistically, it is regrettable.
Across the street from this batiker, to the left of the school, is a narrow street that leads to Mustaffa batik, another busy traditional batiker. In the same Ladang neighborhood, you'll find the workshop of blokmaker Zakaria Ismail alongside the canal about 50 m from the main road.
The sarong shown above is based on a traditional Javanese style. In 2008, they returned to this style (see row 8).
